Koop’s Campaign Playbook: McCain Grabbing at Straws

October 22, 2008 – Geneva (apj.us) – Here's a good one. John McCain and Sarah Palin,  his cocktail bowling-shoe renting presidential candidate, are slamming Barack Obama because Joe Biden said…

… that Obama would most likely face a test of his ability to deal with foreign policy problems early in his presidency.  Biden compared Obama to President John F. Kennedy who also had little experience with the Soviets during the Missile Crisis and botched the Bay of Pigs invasion in Cuba.

McCain told a crowd of morons that he, John McCain was in his cockpit on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise in the ocean off Cuba during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

"You know how close we came to a nuclear war?" he told supporters in Harrisburg, Pa. "America will not have a president who needs to be tested. I've been tested."

Huh?

What does sitting in the cockpit of an airplane have to do with testing your ability to handle complex and dangerous foreign policy problems?  In fact, McCain makes himself sound like a mad man.  To hear him tell it yesterday, he would be in his "cockpit" again, at 73 years old – ready to start a nuclear war – should some nation "bother" him.

One wonders whether McCain was in the cockpit of one of the planes he destroyed because he was a lousy pilot, or one that survived the McCain "touch."

What a hero, what a jerk.
